Gold Eagle at the Laurel House

Posted by Pat456 on 6/10/2009

We have visited the Gold Eagle in Plainfield on many occasions and we were disappointed when they moved . But after not finding any place that comes near to the quality and taste of food around our area we decided to venture to Dayville and we were not disappointed ,We were glad to see the regular Staff and new one's also ,It's a great tribute to Peter Malcoon to see all his staff follow him to Dayville ,He must be doing something right . Our food was excellant as usual .It was like going back to Grandma 's House for Sunday Dinner . In keeping with the Times the Menu prices were raised a little but definetly not overpriced by any means and as always we took home enough of our Large portion to have as an additional meal .So to Peter and his GREAT STAFF thank you and we will be back.

Way overpriced

The Gold Eagle used to be located in plainfield, and featured some of the best food around. Now that they've moved to Dayville, their prices seemed to have gone up while their quality has gone way downhill. Way too overpriced (I mean come on $17 for a chicken dish in this area is way too much, especially if you can get something better and cheaper at somewhere like Golden Greek), and abysmally slow service every time I've gone. I will not go back unless I'm desperate and everywhere else is too busy!
